We educate future security professionals with the skills, knowledge, and critical thinking required to tackle the complex challenges of emerging cyber threats.
We give motivated students the opportunity to work on their theses under the supervision of a laboratory advisor. The goal of the thesis is to introduce students to the breadth of tasks involved in independent work – problem analysis, experimentation, programming, writing, and presenting.
PV276 – Seminar on Simulation of Cyber Attacks
This course allows students to learn cybersecurity topics hands-on. Apart from practicing various attacks and defense methods, students create cybersecurity training games and present them publicly.
The course introduces topics such as attack types and techniques, network traffic analysis, forensic analysis, and prevention methods. There is also a special seminar group on ICS/SCADA security. Later in the semester, teams of students prepare cybersecurity games at KYPO cyber range for a public open day event.
PV210 – Cybersecurity in an Organization
The general objective of the course is the introduction of services of a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) in an organization.
At the end of the course, a student should be able to understand the basic services of a CSIRT and use essential tools of a CSIRT.
PA211 – Advanced Topics of Cyber Security
The aim of this course is understanding of advanced security concepts in design, development, and analysis of systems and tools which are used by a CSIRT team.
Graduate of this course will also be able to select appropriate methods of security monitoring, analysis, and digital forensics for a given application.
